  1. What will it do?
  2. The project is an interactive installation. I am planning to make one module and can be replicated and connected to form a much bigger installation. One module is going have 12 flaps while fold in and out.

  4. I was inspired by kinetic facades that are often used as facades for buildings.


    But there is a lot of research being done on different forms and mechanisms that can be used for this concept. I will be trying to make as many parts connected to a single motor as possible.

    • Flaps that fold in and out.
    • Hinges for movement.
    • Mechanism and housing for flaps.
    • Connectors for the flaps.
    • Base for the the module.
    • PCB for the servo.
    • Sensor that activates the servo.

    • For the flaps: cardboard
    • Mechanism: Metal or PLA
    • Wood for the base

      Copper sticker sheet for the capacitive Sensor

    • Mechanism for the flaps to be connected to the servo and have smooth movement.
    • Capacitive sensor triggers movement of the servo.
    • The flaps fold in and go back to its original position.
